November 1, Day 27, Finale!

Word for the day:  FINALE:   The close or termination of something!  Unfortunately, my grand nephew, Artemis Harrison McRae, age 2 years, 1 month; died today in his parents’ arms after sustaining brain damage  He experienced appendicitis, obtained a new liver, but was snatched from this earth this day, All Saints Day! It has added such sadness and disbelief to my life.

So, On this day of incredible loss for our family, we ended our pilgrimage.  We had a final  lunch after going to Mass at Sagrada Familia.
The Holy Family also suffered much loss, but Jesus was in his family’s life for 33 years; rather than 2!

6For I am already being poured out like a drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand. 7I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”    2 Timothy 6-7

Nativity on right side, blues & greens
                            Stairway to heaven?
                   Resurrection on the left

Gaudi started this project in 1883 and worked on it
           Until his death in 1926.
His body lies in a crypt below the  main altar.

Father Josep Luis Iriberri, SJ, our guide
waving bye bye as he exits the international Mass.

And, so rather than a last supper, we had a last lunch!

            Wonderful seafood, crawfish and shrimp
                             🦞 and  🍤 🦐
And final farewell to our incredible guide,
             Father Josep Luis Iriberri, SJ
                              Jeez Louise!

Finale!  Finally,  I end this pilgrimage!  I hope to spend the next 30 days processing and reflecting on this journey.  The days were too long, and my body and mind too tired after walking each day, to really have time for meditation and reflection.  So, if you are interested in round2, stay along for the ride.  I will end with a song.  I hope to have my eyes opened and my
Heart ♥️ filled with love 💕

Louise, regarding the passing a little Artemis. What a cute little boy. It’s always hard to understand why these things happen. I’m sure that you will have plenty of time to reflect on these life-changing moments in your life. Enjoy your time with Eileen, and just be in the adventure of life!❤️. Susan

  3. Oh, my heart aches for all of Artemis’s family & friends. It’s so hard to lose the little ones in this life…All Creation groans & grieves for the earthly death of one so dear. Now he rests eternally in the arms of his Savior & Redeemer in a place where all things are made new…
