October 6, Day 2 Loyola, home of Ignatius


 Word for the day:  Conversion!  “The process of changing or causing something to change from one form to another.”  Father Joseph spoke today about St Ignatius and His conversion. He was born in a wealthy family And was injured in a battle at the age of 30. He broke both legs and then returned home to heal.  

Ignatius childhood home, a sort of castle.  His grandfather was expelled to south of Spain.  Upon his return, his home had to be refinished due to a fire.  He designed the upper level with the Moor influence.


Ignatius returning from battle with 2 broken legs. During his recovery, he had a conversion of faith.  It was 500 years ago, 1522, when he embarked on his journey to Manresa.  He founded the Jesuits, (below),

  2. Laid up at home with two broken legs. Just think, he might not have had his conversion of faith if he'd had Netflix to keep him occupied. :)
