December 13-16 chaos
Word of the day: chaos: complete disorder
So, like with all things, Christmas planning and events got in the way of my daily blog! We left Spokane on December 7 and planned to stay at the Geiser Grand Hotel in Baker City, Oregon. But again, God’s plan was different than mine. Our car broke down in Pasco and we had to rent a car. But we did make it to our hotel, built in 1889 during the gold/silver rush.

We then drove to Ontario on the 8th and had breakfast with Dad and Charlie, as they had MD appts nearby. From there, we drove to Boise to return the rental. That’s when the comma butterfly appeared in my sister’s window.
She has been around for a bit. But who would have thought they’d live in freezing weather. I guess they can hibernate, so the cocoon could have been in the house. Or maybe just a small miracle!I did cover Sunday! Monday, the 12th, we made Potica, a Slovenian walnut honey bread. Mom would make it every holiday. It is a long process.
Finished product in Dutch oven
We also made cinnamon rolls, Susan busy!

And the 3 of us relaxing after active filled days. Dave and I left early on the 13th for the 7 hour return trip to Spokane; which included retrieving our car in Pasco. The shop found nothing wrong. So while we are glad it didn’t cost us anything; it remains a mystery!
Wednesday, the 14, we prepared Christmas cards and attended our grandson’s Christmas program. The nice thing about Catholic school is that we were able to sing Christ mas songs and celebrate the nativity. They perform every year at St Aloysius Gonzaga church. And now I know a lot more about him due to Camino walk! The 15 & 16 included wrapping packages snd baking cookies for the holiday.
Jeez Louise!
