December 3, Pilgrimage

Word of the day: pilgrim!  “A pilgrim is someone who undertakes a long journey with a holy or spiritual motive.  Isn’t life jut one long pilgrimage?  Today, we got Santa pics with the family.

It truly is a sacred journey as we help our grandchildren negotiate their world.  My word of the day on the 2nd day of  Camino was gratitude. And I am so grateful for the blessing in my life!

October 7 was the first day of our walk. We traversed from Azpeitia to Legazpi.

              Our final destination!  Legazpi

The pilgrims in front of the Basilica of Loyola, where our walk began.  A journey of 320 miles (500km).

One In Misty
of the tunnels on our quest!
A misty moisty morning.  A bit eerie looking at the Basilica and knowing our journey was beginning!
One of the tunnels we would encounter
My dad’s best friend, donkeys are his “brothers”
Amazing how much these rock formations looked like faces greeting us as we walked through the tunnels!

A gate opened as we began our 22 km walk/hike!
See the butterfly?  I saw one or more every day I walked.  So, I knew Mom-was with me, guiding me, protecting me.  My guardian angel!  Jeez Louise!
