December 7 Fever 🥵
Word of the day: fever 🥵 bring about a high body temperature or a state of nervous excitement in (someone). The example used was: “ a heart which sin has fevered". Funny how a word I try to keep out of my vocabulary, SIN, is used in this definition.
The readings continued to stress that this “is not the time to judge yourself or where you may be falling short.” And the question, “What is a frail human, that you should be mindful of him/her.”
Interesting that a few hours later, I developed a fever of 102 (38+ Celsius),and a cough that would not cease. This was the end of Week 1 of the spiritual exercises, the end of week 1 of our Ignatius Camino! A day for reflection.
Ana Santa Ana, Kathy, and me. We did not walk that day, due to our coughs, Ana’s listers, my fever, and feeling SICK! Kathy and I had been up most of the night coughing. She was my guardian angel, caring for me due to my fever and cough!
The rest of the group walked. It had been a bit rainy, so a few of the folks joined us on the bus. We stopped in a little town, Kispan and explored while we waited for the walkers. Final destination was the walled city of LaGuardia.
Week 1 of the spiritual exercises: SELF AWARENESS
What did I become aware of that first week of the Camino?
CHILDREN
Outdoor spaces are so important for our children. After Covid, with so much isolation; Children need to relearn connections (don’t we all?). And the importance of a spiritual base. And love, and mindfulness, and peace!
FLOWERS 🌺
As Monet said, “I must have flowers, always & alwaysZinnias
And of course, my favorite, roses.
I became even more aware of the beauty of nature. And as Father said, “for the greater glory of God!”
