November 20, Thanksgiving

 Word for the day:  Thanksgiving

I thank my creator for giving me my family, my life full of love ๐Ÿ’• and hope and health.  I thank God for the good people who have crossed my path and whom I am honored to call friends.

New friends in Barcelona.  Eileen is blessed with many good friends and every year she hosts a Thanksgiving feast for her dear friends! This was her first one post covid, so it was a special celebration of reuniting after lockdown and so much loss.  Spain was on lockdown for nearly 6 months! Oh, what a feast it was yesterday.
Turkey, broccoli and cauliflower in Bechamel Sauce, fresh green beans with bacon, mashed potatoes & gravy And don’t forget the stuffing, Eileen’s friends’ favorite.
                 Preparations for the stuffing
                  Cutting the turkey
The turkey just barely fit in her oven, the whole space
The first time Eileen has had family with her in Spain to celebrate  Thanks ๐Ÿ™ giving. At dinner, we each spent a moment sharing what we are thankful for and many tears were shed during our testaments.
                               Later arrivals!
Decadent desserts:  Sweet Potato Pie, Peanut Butter Pie and Eileen’s famous cheesecake.  She made a fabulous sauce of blueberry ๐Ÿซ and fresh picked blackberries.

This is a pic taken at the lake house in March 2020, with sibs: Susan and Craig and Perry and Connie.     They all went home the 2nd week of March, and lockdown in Washington started on March 18!
Thankful that we all survived Covid on both sides of the Atlantic!
I’m thankful for beautiful sunsets ๐ŸŒ… at Diamond ♦️
In  Bouznika, Morocco ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡ฆ in our friend Mohammed’s
            Backyard (near the capital Rabat)
During Evening prayer  (Maghreb) in Marrakech

Walking along the Atlantic in Bouznika

Walking along the boardwalk on the Mediterranean
On a drive home from a day in Rabat, Morocco ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡ฆ

And sunrises, leaving Monserrat at sunrise for the final walk of St Ignatius Camino!  Thankful for the walk!
Sunrises at the farm in Homedale, a blessed place!
And sunsets at the end of the day, a time for rest

And 4 generations of family,  another thanks for giving me such a great family.  BLESSED ๐Ÿ˜‡.

So I hope this day finds you giving thanks for your blessings as the Thanksgiving holiday nears in U.S.

                         Jeez Louise!
