April 4, Holy Week

 Words for the day:

The important thing is not to think much but to love much, and so to do whatever best awakens you to love.”

—Teresa of Ávila

I have also been contemplating Holy Week vs Wholly Week; Palm Sunday vs Psalm Sunday! Waking up to a week of contemplation regarding my Christian faith and it’s roots.  I am always in awe when the religious calendars of the world collide:  Easter Season, Passover, the day before Holy Thursday, the celebration of the Passover of our Lord!   And Ramadan throughout!
All our religions focusing on this Holy time, an opportunity for it to be a wholly time!
And in my faith, it is this symbol:

This exhibit is on display at Spokane’s Museum of Art and Culture.  The beautiful bead work of
“Ubuhle Women: Beadwork and the Art of Independence showcases a new form of bead art, the ndwango, developed by a community of women living and working together in rural KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. “. The MAC

This depiction of Jesus on the cross is to call attention to a humble man, a humble God, dying a death like so many in South Africa who have died of AIDS or continue to suffer from this plague.

“Although the continent is home to about 15.2 percent of the world's population, more than two-thirds of the total infected worldwide – some 35 million people – were Africans, of whom 15 million have already died.”  Wikepedia

Jeez Louise!   Let us pray for healing and peace!
